Masks

For the performance of the samba we thought wearing masks would be a good idea, so we looked up prices for masks, for the boys we thought they should were full face masks and for the girls to wear eye masks. We looked on many craft and fancy dress shop websites to try and find the masks we wanted at a reasonable price. We found full face masks for 60p each, the cheapest eye masks we found were £1.20 each, we needed 13 masks for the girls and it came to £24, and for the boys the total came to £3.60. We had a budget of £50 and we only spent £27.60, so I think our budgeting went well.

Origins Of Festivals

A festival is an event usually put on by a local community, which celebrates some unique aspect of their community. When the word Festival is used it is most often referred to a religious festival rather that a film o art festival. The word fest comes from the Middle English, from Middle French word festivus, from the Latin word festivus. The word festival was first recorded as a noun in 1589. Many types of festivals serve to meet specific needs and to entertain. Modern festivals that focus on cultural or ethnic topics seek to inform members of their traditions. Back in the day festivals were a time for the elderly people to share their stories and to transfer certain knowledge to the next generation.
